A study with 160 one-day age male broilers (Ross 308) was for six week period, conducted to investigate the some blood parameters, and plasma thyroxin (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) of broiler chickens with cold induced pulmonary hypertension syndrome (PHS). Chicks in 2 groups of 4 replicates were studied in each group20 chicks for each replicate were used. One group set as control (healthy) group and reared under normal temperature, second group set as PHS group and reared under cold temperature. At the end of the experiment (day 42), 2 chicks from each replicate were randomly selected bled and slaughtered. The heart was removed and the right ventricle was dissected away. The ratio of right ventricle weight to total ventricle weight (RV/TV) was calculated. The results showed that hematocrit value, mortality due to ascites, RV/TV index and differential white blood cells count were significantly higher in CT treatment chick (P<0.05). The concentrations of plasma t4 of CT birds were significantly lower than other group birds at day 21 & 42. it is also, The concentrations of plasma t3 of CT birds were significantly higher than other group birds at day 21 (exception day 42) (P<0.05).

In this study, the interaction of various concentrations of Cadmium Sulfate with Peroxidase (E.C 1.11.1.7) was investigated in different temperatures (25-35 °C). For this purpose thermostability, spectrophotometry, spectroflorimetry and kinetics studies were done to obtain thermodynamic parameters including ∆G°, ∆H°m, ∆S°m, Tm and also kinetics parameters including Vmax and Km. The results showed that Cadmium Sulfate caused uncompetitive inhibition at different temperatures and increasing of temperature intensified this inhibition effect. Also Cadmium Sulfate was reduced the stability of peroxidase and reduced its Tm. In the spectrophotometric studies the effect of Cadmium Sulfate on the peroxidase in such a way that the absorption in 275nm increased and temperatures increased it too, also the absorption in 404nm (soret bond) decreased and temperature decreased it too. Totally, Cadmium Sulfate ions in a time- and dose- dependent manner and affected by temperature bind to the peroxidase in the heme environment and decrease the thermostability of it, and exert uncompetitive inhibition.

ABSTRACT
Rana is a genus of the Ranidae family. This genus has a worldwide distribution, with six subfamilies, 30 genera and 500 species in the world. Frogs of Iran are still known very incompletely. Results of the study of frogs fauna in 343 different localities of 20 provinces of Iran and other studies which have been done by other researchers, recorded a total of two genera and four species from these areas: Rana ridibunda, Rana camerani, Rana macrocnemis and Euphlyctis cyanophlyctis. Their distribution in Iran is limited and some taxonomic information is given for each species. There are two aims in the present study: the first one is to provide reliable description that will allow unambiguous and true identification of these species of Iran. The second aim is to provide information on distribution and biology of this family to enhance future studies.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this paper was to determine species diversity of wintering waterbirds from a ten-year (2002-2011) monitoring in Meyghan wetland. Data for calculating the estimates of biodiversity come from the midwinter census by using a total count from the department of the Markazi province's environment. Data analysis for determine species diversity carried out by using Ecological Methodology and SPSS software. During a 10 periods from 2002 to 2011, a total of 134350 wetland birds composed of 56 species from 6 orders and 16 families of the bird fauna of Iran were observed during the course of this study. The most common species counted was the Common Crane (Grus grus) with a total of 54000 individuals. The results indicated that among families of migratory, wintering waterfowl and waders in Meyghan wetland the large family was Gruidae with 40.19 percent abundance and the lowest was Haematopodidae and Burhinidae each one with 0.01 percent. The highest species richness recording in years of 2010 with 37 species in this year. The results showed that in this period wader's fauna with 62.1 percent and waterfowl fauna with 37.9 percent, respectively has the highest and lowest abundances. According to the results of species diversity and evenness the year of 2010 has the highest biodiversity of migratory, wintering waterfowl and wader's fauna in Meyghan wetland and the year of 2002, 2003 and 2008 has the lowest biodiversity (P < 0.05).

This study was conducted to compare of inflammatory markers response in serum and saliva of healthy men following an exhaustive exercise test. Twenty two volunteer healthy men (aged 20-30 years and body fat 10-16%) in a quasi-experimental, single group design participated in Bruce exercise test. Serum and saliva samples were collected immediately before and after the exercise test. C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were determined by Immunoturbidimetric and ELISA methods, respectively. Data were expressed as mean (±SD) and analyzed by paired t-test and Spearman at α≤0.05. The serum and saliva CRP and IL-6 were significantly increased (P<0.05) after the exercise test. Moreover, the correlation between serum and salivary samples for CRP (rPre=0.82 and rPost= 0.88) and IL-6 (rPre=0.42 and rPost= 0.54) was significantly positive (P<0.05). According to the present results, it can be concluded that saliva CRP and most likely IL-6 samples a suitable and noninvasive alternative for use in order to evaluate exercise-induced systemic inflammation.

Cervical cancer is the most common gynecologic cancer and the second most common cancer in women worldwide. Herbal preparations are used to treat cancer for centuries. The aim of this study was investigate the cytotoxic effects of the methanol extract of Citrullus Colocynthis and volatile oils of Iranian C. medica on Hela cell line. After preparation extract and volatile oils, different concentrations of volatile oils of C. medica (0.25-10 μg / ml) and extract of Citrullus Colocynthis (100-1000 μg / ml) were added to Hela cultured cells and incubated for 72 hours. Cell survival was evaluated using MTT-based cytotoxicity assay. The results showed that methanolic extract of Citrullus Colocynthis had not significant cytotoxic effect on Hela cells but Volatile oils of Citrus medica had significant cytotoxic effect on this cells and it’s most compounds was limonene , linalool , linalool acetate and beta - pinene. The findings showed that volatile oils of C. medica had more cytotoxic effect than the Citrullus Colocynthis extract, limonene and linalool of the volatile oil causes this effects.

The aim of this study was to compare the total protein levels in serum of veteran exposure to sulfur mustard (SM) which was used in the Iran-Iraq war. In this study, 35 patients exposed to mustard gas (case group) and 35 healthy subjects (control group) were evaluated. The total protein concentration was measured by Bradford method. The average amount of protein in serum exposure to sulfur mustard (patients) in compared with a control group, showed no significant differences (p>0.05). The observed inflammatory reaction in the lungs and eyes exposed veterans with sulfur mustard gas and the total protein in the serum of healthy individual veterans did not show significant differences in inflammatory factor. Therefore, it should be the amounts of inflammatory factors in local (lungs and eyes) were high and the systemic inflammatory factors may be increased.
