Whiteflies (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha: Aleyrodidae) are one of the most important agricultural pests in fields, greenhouses and orchards which damage to various agricultural crops. Up on the conducted samplings through 2000-2004 in different regions of Guilan province on the base of collecting the whiteflies’ pupae from the host plants, 18 species including, Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby, 1915, Aleurochiton acerinus Haupt, 1934, Aleurolobus marlatti Quaintance, 1903, Aleurolobus moundi David & Subramaniam, 1976, Aleurolobus olivinus Silvestri, 1911, Aleyrodes elevatus Silvestri, 1934, Aleyrodes lonicerae Walker, 1852, Aleyrodes proletella (Linnaeus, 1758), Bemisia afer (Priesner & Hosny, 1934), Bemisia carpini (Koch, 1857), Bemisia mesasiatica Danzig, 1969, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius, 1889), Dialeurodes citri (Ashmead, 1885), ialeurodes kirkaldyi (Kotinsky, 1907), Parabemisia myricae (Kuwana, 1927), Siphoninus phillyreae (Haliday, 1835), Trialeurodes packardi (Morrill, 1903) and Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood, 1856) were determined. The identified aleyrodids are belonging to nine genera, and all in the subfamily Aleyrodinae. In addition to introducing of aleyrodids of Guilan, identification key and host plants are given for all the species.

This study was directed in the four stations of the coast of Noor, Mahmoudabad and Royan cities (Mazandaran Province) located in the coast of the Caspian Sea for identification and determine some ecological factors of crab Rhithropanopeus harrrissi. Samples of each station were fixed and transported to the laboratory and were identified at the species level. The 192 collected samples were found to be Rhithropanopeus harrrissi in the laboratory analysis. In order to verifying the species, our samples compare with the metatypical crab samples in the Zoological Museum, University of Tehran. Also in this species, morphological features, sex ratio, abundance and distribution were analysis. The one ways ANOVA with LSD test showed a significant difference (p

Abstract Alborz province with area about 5833 km2 located in west of Tehran province. In a long term study of the lizards in this province which lasted 2 years (2015-2016), 13 species of lizards, Paralaudakia caucasia, Trapelus agilis, Phrynocephalus persicus, Darevskia defilippi, Lacerta strigata, Eremias persica, Eremias fasciata, Eremias papenfussi, Ophisops elegans, Mesalina watsonana, Bunopus crassicaudus, Ablepharus bivittatus and Eumeces schneideri, belonging to four families, were collected, recognized and reported from the area. We also built 13 distribution maps for lizards of the Alborz province. We recorded two new distribution records for lizards of Iran in the area, we found an isolated population of Lacerta strigata in the north of the province which extends altitudinal distribution of the species more than 900 m in Iran. We also found an isolated population of Eremias faciata in south of the province, this record is the westernmost record for this species in Iran and extends the known distributional range of the species about 200 km westward.

This study was conducted to survey distribution pattern and seasonal and spatial abundance of hermit crabs in six stations located in the intertidal zones of Hormuz Island. Sampling was conducted during four seasons. Hermit crabs were fixed in 70% ethanol and were transported to the laboratory. With valid identification key, nine species in two families of hermit crabs were identified. SPSS, PAST, TAL (4.2) and R software were used for statistical analyses. ANOVA test using LSD showed that the abundance of identified species were significantly different among some of the stations (P < 0/05) but seasonal changes had no significant effect on abundance of the species. Cluster analysis showed that stations five and six had the highest likeness and station 4 had the highest difference with the other stations. This analysis also showed that summer had the highest difference in abundance of hermit crabs compared to other seasons. Also, comparison the frequency and distribution of the species in all seasons and stations with different measured environmental parameters (pH, salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, slope and the overall structure of the substrate) showed that changes in abundance and distribution of hermit crabs dependents only the overall structure of the substrate and changes in other parameters dot not significantly change their frequency and distribution.

Abstract Caracal (Caracal caracal) is a species of Felidae which has a vast distribution in the central area ofIran. In this study, we gathered all records of caracal in Yazd province during nine years (2002-2011). We also analyzed the results of intensive camera-trapping in 3 protected areas inYazd province. Based on the results of the study 96 records of caracal were obtained in the study area including, 36 photographs, 54 direct observations and 6 death animals. The results showedSiahkouhNational Park has more relative abundance of caracal than the other areas (including; Naibandan and Dareh Anjir wildlife refuges). Analysis of the results showed there is no significant difference between the activities of caracal on night and day. Three records of death animals related to the road accidents. In this study, we obtained 3 different cases of reproduction of caracal in Kalmand – Bahadoran protected area.
